Dallas Police Detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating a theft suspect that posed as a student to steal a woman's wallet and then was seen with a small child as he used the stolen credit cards. The theft offense took place on December 20, 2011 at the West Coast University located at 8435 N. Stemmons Freeway and was documented on case #331456-Y.
In the following three surveillance videos, the suspect can be seen wandering the halls at the university before entering the victim's office and removing her wallet from her purse. Detectives were also able to obtain additional surveillance video from stores where the suspect used the stolen credit cards. In those videos the suspect can be seen purchasing movie tickets with the credit cards while he has a small child with him. In another video he is seen with the same child at an AT&T store using the stolen credit card. The child has on a dark jacket with orange lining and is holding a blue bounce ball. It is believed the suspect used the child at several of the stores to divert attention away from him while he committed this theft and forgery.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-to-late 30's. He appears to be about 5'7" and 170 lbs. He is bald and had a black backpack on. He was also listening to headphones while inside the university and several of the stores. Anyone with information on this offense or this suspect is asked to contact Dallas Police Detectives at (214) 670-6233
